While working as an L&D nurse, I saw plenty of parents enter the hospital looking scared and overwhelmed by their experience. I soon realized that my favorite moments were when I had the time to sit down and connect - offering them information and assurance about their upcoming birth. That's why I jumped at the opportunity to teach childbirth classes when I first got the chance.

 

Over the years I have also become more and more aware of the challenges in our healthcare system that both new families and birth professionals have to overcome.

 

My decision to become an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor stems from a desire to offer information about healthy birth choices alongside practical skills of communication and advocacy. Together this can truly prepare an expecting couple to have an empowered and positive birth experience.
